The Brief COPE Inventory is a widely used psychological tool designed to assess how individuals cope with stress and challenging situations.
What does it measure?
- Problem-Focused Coping – actively addressing the issue
- Emotion-Focused Coping – managing emotional responses
- Avoidant Coping – avoiding or disengaging from stress
How to administer:
Indicate how often you use each strategy when dealing with stress.
Response scale:
0 = Not at all
1 = A little
2 = Moderately
3 = A lot
Interpretation:
Higher scores indicate greater use of that coping style.
