What is PHQ-9?

What does this assessment measure?
PHQ-9 evaluates key areas such as low mood, loss of interest, sleep disturbances, fatigue, appetite changes, feelings of worthlessness, concentration difficulties, psychomotor changes, and thoughts related to self-harm. Each question reflects an important dimension of depression.

How to administer this test?
Ask the individual to respond based on their experiences over the last 2 weeks.
Each question must be answered by selecting one appropriate option.
Ensure the person feels comfortable and understands there are no right or wrong answers.
All questions should be answered for accurate scoring.

How scoring works?
Each item is scored from 0 to 3.
Total score ranges from 0 to 27.
